Selecting an Industrial Scale
Since almost all industrial scales use strain gauge technology for weight measurement and strain gauge load cells are quite similar to one another how do you separate them and make a logical choice between them?
Need to connect your scale to a PC?
Our PC connectivity solutions include everything you need to start transferring data from the scale to your PC in a matter of minuets. Any Torbal precision scale, analytical balance, or an industrial scale can be connected to a PC via RS232, USB or Bluetooth. Our technical support staff is available to assist you at any time in connecting your Torbal scale to a PC. If you need data transferred to third part software, you should use our Procell package.
I switched computers and my scale connection to the PC is not working.
We had a scale connect to a PC where everything worked. We now connected the scale to a new PC that just arrived and we can not get the connection right even though we are using the identical setting?
Connecting multiple scales to a PC via USB, and using Procell or Torbal Communcations Software.
To run multiple scales with one computer via a USB port you must first determine the virtual comports that a computer selects for your USB connection. To do so all you have to do is use Device Manager to determine USB virtual ports. Every scale you connect you will have a different USB comport assigned. To collect data from multiple scales you must make sure that automatic reading function is turned off. This applies both to Procell and Communications. Automatic reading will cause the RS232 port connection to be continuously occupied; therefore it will not allow data passage from multiple units.
Using a barcode scanner with TORBAL AG/N professional series
The use of a barcode scanner with TORBAL AG/N professional laboratory scales is a great way to help save time and prevent mistakes. Scanning a barcode is by far faster then typing in a name of a reference weight when performing percent weighing or labeling the average piece weigh of an item when performing parts counting. Here we are going to focus on the way the barcode scanner can cut time.
