High capacity scales, with accuracy of one gram, can be used for a variety of purposes that don’t require incredibly precise weighing accuracy.

For example, potters oftentimes need to use scales.  The ingredients that they blend to create the working materials involved in creating pottery need to be weighed, but in the amounts generally used super-precise accuracy is not a factor. Consequently, a scale with one gram accuracy is generally perfect for those involved in the making of pottery.

Let’s say you want to weigh a small animal, like a bird.  You own a pet store, or you’re a veterinarian who works frequently with birds.  Do you need a scale with .001g resolution to weigh a parakeet with a bum wing?  No.  You’re going to want a scale with one gram resolution that can weigh up to two or three pounds.  A high capacity scale, such as the Torbal AD3000 or AD6, will be perfect for your needs.  Scales like this have a particular setting for animal weighing which makes the job much easier.

Manufacturers often require check weighing to be performed.  When containers need to be filled for commercial use, the manufacturer needs to know that the containers are neither above nor below a certain weight when filled.  Improperly filled containers can be a huge business liability.  High capacity scales like the AD6 have a function that checks weight to make sure that there are no problems with container filling.

High capacity scales can also be used for totalize purposes when several items are compounded together.  Accurate summation of sequential weights is important. A mode that allows for viewing the subtotal as well as the final total can be a great help to the end user.

We have only begun scratching the surface of the potential range of uses for high capacity scales.  We haven’t delved into the uses of these scales in places like kitchens or post offices.  But whatever your needs may be, Torbal offers a line of scales that will suit your needs, in both quality and price
